This should be VERY interesting … watch that space.
I don’t have enough experience to know if micro partitioning will really work or not, but this could be a good thing for individual developers, the IBM i platform, and the community, if it does. I’m hopefully optimistic.
We’re probably in a position to continue buying or leasing our own servers, but individuals need an environment where they can work autonomously, in self-directed fashion, where they control the manner and means, so to speak.
We could see a lot of new creative works emerging out of something like this.
